Sometimes you just need to get away from it all. You need to go somewhere strange, surrounded by too many trees, with hidden dangers, vicious insects and murky waters. Somewhere where nobody knows your name (not Cheers). And you take on those elements as if you were born to them. You wade out in the dark water, tadpoles swimming through your muddy toes, and you lift your camera to capture (interesting take on the idea of taking pictures, isn’t it? “Capture”!) the strange beauty that surrounds you.

Photography, through the light creating images on my sensor (very technical there), may the sun fold me into this world like chocolate chips into some morning pancakes. Give me banana and peanut-butter sandwiches (metaphorically). Like a canoe in open water, a flower growing in the bog or a kite flying in the breeze, let me be free here in this dangerous paradise where everything lives and dies beside each other in perfection.

Went to a cottage. Shoulda taken more pictures.
